Obituary for Evelyn Burdette Escue

Evelyn Burdette Escue, 85, passed away November 17, 2014. Evelyn was born in Norfolk, Virginia to the late Ernest and Lorretta Barrett Burdette and was the loving wife of 52 years to the late Joseph E. Escue. She was also predeceased by her daughter, Lorretta Shure. Evelyn was a member of First Baptist Church of Norfolk, the Shepherds Sunday School Class and was a former member of the Gideons Auxiliary.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Lois Escue Windle; sister, Elizabeth Perry; brothers, Sammy, Buddy and Charlie Burdette; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home on Friday, November 21, 2014 at 10 a.m. with a service to celebrate her life at 11 a.m. with Chaplain Darren Wiskow. She will be laid to rest at Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Union Mission Ministries, 5100 East Virginia Beach Blvd. Norfolk, VA 23502.
