VIRGINIA BEACH-John “Butch” William Bowers, II, 65, went to be with the Lord on October 21, 2014. A native of Warrenton, VA, he was the son of the late John William Bowers, Sr. and Vilas Lydia Higgins Bowers and loving husband of 10 years to Linda Marie Bowers. A jack-of-all-trades, he was an all-round handyman who loved woodworking and many outdoor activities but will be mostly remembered as having a heart of gold.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Lora Horton (Jim) and Jason Bowers (Serina); his step-children, Kristina Marie Smith (Ray) and Danielle Kimberly Batson (James); six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; siblings, Barbara and Jeanie and numerous other family and friends. He was predeceased by a step-son, David Nolan Scott, Jr.
