Betty Louise Gilbert, 80, passed away August 5, 2014. Betty was born in Greenville, North Carolina to the late Will Brady and Lizzie Jenkins Brady and was the loving wife of the late James G. Gilbert, Sr.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Bertha Layman, J. Lee Gilbert and Charlie E. Gilbert; special niece, Lena S. Hobbs; eight grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and other loving family members. She was predeceased by her son, James G. Gilbert, Jr.

A service to celebrate her life will be held Saturday, August 9, 2014, at 10 a.m. at Graham Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Good Hope Methodist Church Cemetery, Chesapeake at 2 p.m..
