Sandy B. Pillar, 70, of the Deep Creek Section of Chesapeake passed away August 3, 2014. Sandy was born in Savannah, Georgia to William Bailey and Catherine McCauley Bailey. She was a devout Roman Catholic; and for many years was in food service with the Chesapeake Public Schools at Deep Creek Intermediate and Butts Road Intermediate.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 48 years, Robert J. Pillar, III; daughter, Karen Cahoon; sons, William M. Pillar and Kevin G. Cahoon, Jr.; sister, Phyllis Pyle; six grandchildren including Robert Zortman; five great-grandchildren; and her cousin, Alice McCauley Bailey.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, August 7, 2014, at 11:00 am at Graham Funeral Home. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Norfolk. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm.
