Norma Lee  Vollmer
PORTSMOUTH-Norma Lee Vollmer, 86, passed away May 9, 2014. She was born in Norfolk County to the late Warren and Ida Lee Harris King. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 50 years, Donald F. Vollmer, her beloved son, Harold Edward Vollmer and sister, Edna Fay Kindley. She was the past president of the V.F.W. Auxiliary Tidewater #4809 and a member of the Chesapeake Christian Women’s Club. Although she had not attended service in many years, she was a member of Great Bridge Baptist Church.
Left to cherish her memory are her beloved son and daughter whom were her primary caregivers, Fredrick and Carolyn; children, Donald and Francis of North Carolina, Leslie of Texas, Helen Louise; a legacy of grandchildren, notably Shawn Edward, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren; sisters, Carol Cartwright of Chesapeake, Mary Lou Ashley of Tennessee and Gloria Guinn of Kentucky and a number of extended family as she was a “mom” to everyone she held dear.
Graveside services will be held Friday, May 16, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake with Pastor Chuck Moseley officiating.
