CHESAPEAKE – Mildred Louise Cooper Vaughan, 89, of the 1200 block of Hazel Avenue, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, February 22, 2012 in Chesapeake. She was born in Scotland Neck, NC to the late Willie and Lucy Carlisle Cooper. She is also preceded in death by her husband, John Leroy Vaughan and son James Leroy Vaughan. She was a member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Barbara Bonney and husband Marvin; sons, Erwin Vaughan and wife Dominique, and Gary Vaughan and wife Donna; daughter-in-law, Linda Vaughan; grandchildren; Robin Bonney, Lisa Bonney, Steve Bonney and wife Sue, Lee Ann Dickerson and husband Scott, Kimberly Waress and husband Brett, Daniel Vaughan and wife Rachael, Rachel Beamer and husband Michael, Amy Herndon and husband Evan, and Joshua Vaughan; great-grandchildren, Grace Vaughan, Cooper Beamer, Jackson Beamer, Jordan Dickerson, and Hudson Waress; sisters, Juanita Baker, Lelia Totty, and Dorothy Harrell.
A service to celebrate her life will be held Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 11 am at Eastminster Presbyterian Church with Rev. David Zavadil and Rev. Bob Hobson officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home Friday 6 to 7:30 pm.
